Wałbrzych police have detained a 49-year-old suspect from Skierniewice County over alleged VAT invoice fraud involving fake documentation for transactions that never happened. Investigators say the value of challenged VAT invoices topped 1 million zł, with VAT of more than 191,000 zł allegedly exposed for loss to the State Treasury. The case follows years of operational and investigative work carried out by Wałbrzych officers together with National Revenue Administration (KAS) officials. Police allege the man used fictitious accounting records to make it look like business deals had taken place, even though they were not real. During the operation, officers secured accounting documents and temporarily seized six vehicles worth about 102,000 zł. This is another stage of the broader investigation, and further arrests are not ruled out.
