A 12-year-old boy was seriously hurt after an unknown pyrotechnic device went off in Vienna-Favoriten. The incident happened on 31 October 2026 at 13:25. The child was injured on his hand and needed medical treatment. According to Vienna emergency services, the boy was cared for by Berufsrettung Wien and then taken to a hospital for further treatment. The mother of the child was also present, but initial findings indicate she was not at the scene during the accident. Police investigations are ongoing to clarify what exactly happened and where the pyrotechnic object came from.
