CBSA seizes 127 kg of suspected cocaine at Ambassador Bridge
Two Mississauga men face charges after the bust at Windsor border crossing.
Two men have been charged after Canadian border officers seized 127 kilograms of suspected cocaine at the Ambassador Bridge border crossing in Windsor, Ontario, last month, CBSA says.
The cocaine was found in a commercial truck arriving from the United States after it was referred for secondary examination on Sept. 11.
CBSA officers discovered the drugs in the truck’s trailer with help from a detector dog. Officers then arrested a 61-year-old and a 41-year-old, both from Mississauga, and transferred them to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
Mounties charged both suspects with importation of cocaine and possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.
CBSA says its southern Ontario region has seized 1.67 metric tonnes of cocaine so far this year.
The men are charged, and the case is being handled by the RCMP.
