Two men were detained by Spain’s National Police after an alleged break-in at a bar in the Parque Alameda district of Valladolid, where they forced entry and smashed a slot machine to steal its cash. Police said the assault happened in the early hours of 1 October. Investigators allege the suspects forced the entrance by breaking the glass on the first door and using a sledgehammer to force open two doors, then moved inside and fractured a slot machine to take the money inside. They also allegedly caused damage around the machine, including to two lamps and a picture. The case began after the bar’s owner filed a complaint about the damage. During follow-up inquiries, police carried out numerous checks over the following weeks, which ultimately led to the suspects being fully identified. Both men were taken to the Provincial Police Station for processing of an atestado for a suspected robbery with force. After the corresponding legal steps, they were brought before a judicial authority, which ordered their release.
