Spanish Guardia Civil dismantled two indoor marijuana grows in Toledo province, arresting 15 people and seizing 2,111 plants across Numancia de la Sagra and El Casar de Escalona, according to La Voz del Tajo. The operations targeted structured cannabis cultivation set up inside residences and other buildings. Police say the suspected production was distributed later in Madrid. In the first operation, Guardia Civil agents from the Valmojado post investigation team detained 14 people for their alleged involvement in a group running the indoor grow and distribution. The probe began after officers detected possible properties used for the activity in Toledo. Investigators focused on three homes and a rural plot in Numancia de la Sagra, where they found an organised, hierarchical setup. Three simultaneous entries and searches were carried out in homes, plus another at a rural property. In total, police seized 1,411 marijuana plants in different stages of growth, and 21 bags of prepared and sealed cannabis buds. The second operation was carried out in El Casar de Escalona by Guardia Civil officers from the Santa Olalla post, working with the local police. After gathering enough indications, they raided a home used for indoor cultivation. Inside, they found 700 marijuana plants in an advanced flowering stage, along with equipment and materials needed to install and maintain the plantation. Police arrested one man and are investigating another person for alleged crimes against public health, for cultivation and drug processing, and for electricity supply fraud. Both actions add to a previous Guardia Civil operation called “Alcahuete Verde”, which resulted in 11 arrests and seven searches, with 2,630 marijuana plants seized plus four kilograms of vacuum-sealed cannabis buds, along with other drugs including hashish and cocaine. Taken together, the three operations have led to more than 4,700 plants seized and 26 arrests in different municipalities in the province of Toledo.
