Police launched a “decisive and intensified” operation on Thursday that led to the arrest of 26 people in a crackdown on organised crime. The raid, run under the codename Plegma, resulted in the seizure of more than €25,000 in cash, along with mobile phones, firearms and drugs. The operation followed an earlier crackdown that began in February. That first phase saw police confiscate 167kg of cannabis, 62kg of cocaine and 4.5kg of cannabis resin. The latest action is part of an ongoing effort to target organised crime.
