A 19-year-old man was arrested at Larnaca airport after customs officers found about 28 kilos of cannabis in his luggage. The suspect arrived on Friday morning, flying into Cyprus from Thailand via Dubai. Acting on information, customs officers working with the Anti-Drugs Unit (YKAN) stopped him for a check and recovered 26 packages in two suitcases. Police are trying to trace who the drugs in Cyprus were intended for, and Interpol is expected to be informed. The man, who holds a British passport, is due to appear before Larnaca District Court on Saturday for a remand order.
