Border police arrest 31-year-old wanted for Spain robbery in Muriqan
Interpol Tirana is pushing extradition after a prison arrest order from Spain.
A 31-year-old man was arrested at Albania’s exit in Muriqan after being flagged as internationally wanted for a robbery case in Spain, according to CNA.
Police said the suspect was taken into custody by border police services with extradition in mind. The man, identified by the initials AT, alias AB, alias AC, is from Mamurras.
Interpol Tirana said it coordinated the capture with counterparts in Spain. The wanted status was issued after a Spanish court decision, from the Court of Instruction No. 4 in Sabadell dated 28.11.2025, ordering the security measure “arrest in prison” for “theft by force”.
After the arrest, the man was handed over to the Lezha Police Department for a temporary arrest procedure aimed at extradition to Spain. Interpol Tirana said extradition steps are continuing with its partners in Spain.
He remains in custody as police carry on the extradition process.
