Police have detained a 34-year-old man from Nagykanizsa after investigators say a drunken dispute turned violent. Hungary Police said the suspect allegedly beat his 74-year-old father so badly that the man died from his injuries. Investigators also say the suspect assaulted another person, who suffered bruises. The case is being handled as a criminal investigation by police. The police did not release details of how the assaults unfolded beyond the fact that the violence followed an alcohol-fuelled situation. The suspect is in police custody as the investigation continues.
