A 35-year-old man was left with severe injuries after being shot in an apartment in Vienna-Penzing, police say. Emergency services were called on 19 October 2026 at 12:55 for a person with serious injuries in the 14th district. The victim had gunshot wounds and was taken to hospital, where he remains under inpatient treatment. Police were notified and the case has been handed to the State Criminal Police Office for further investigation. The background to the shooting is currently unclear.
