A 39-year-old man was allegedly attacked multiple times with an object by a 42-year-old at Keplerplatz in Vienna, leaving him with injuries to his face. The incident happened on 28.10.2026 at 21:00. Police said the confrontation began as a verbal dispute between the two men before the 42-year-old, later identified as a Syrian national, assaulted his counterpart. Vienna’s emergency services first treated the victim for facial injuries. Officers then located the suspect sitting on a park bench and took him into custody for a preliminary arrest. The victim told police the argument escalated because there were no more alcoholic drinks available. The suspect was taken into custody and is being held on a preliminary basis as the investigation continues, according to Vienna police.
