Carabinieri in Baiano arrested a 48-year-old man in flagrant offence for alleged mistreatment of a family member. The arrest followed a reported violent domestic dispute in the morning of the day before. Police were alerted through Italy’s 112 emergency number and reached the home in minutes. Officers found the suspect in an evident state of agitation, which investigators link to alcohol use, and he allegedly caused damage inside the house. After being taken to the Carabinieri station, the man was transferred to the Bellizzi Irpino prison, placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office in Avellino. The case is still at the preliminary investigation stage. The 48-year-old remains in custody pending further steps by prosecutors.
