Police and customs check 73 vehicles on A7 near Kefikon
An overloading breach led to a detention and the seizure of alleged illicit goods.
Police and customs carried out a large-scale operation on the A7 motorway near Kefikon, Thurgau, where 73 vehicles were checked in both directions.
The joint control took place last week. Officers reported several violations, including overfilled or overloaded vehicles.
During the checks, police detained one person and secured items described as delict goods. The authorities said the operation showed how police and customs can combine their powers at the scene.
The control focused on vehicle compliance and safety. Overloading and poor load securing can endanger other road users by affecting driving behaviour, braking and stability. Officers also looked at whether cargo was properly secured.
Legal status: One person has been detained, and the seized items are held as suspected delict goods, while the case remains under investigation.
