A father in Adana went to a hospital with a handgun after taking his daughter for a medical exam, then allegedly tried to shoot her inside the building before fleeing. The incident took place in Seyhan district, Meydan Mahallesi, at the Adana Şehir Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesi, after a woman identified as E.D. reported to police that she had been abused and was sent for examination. Police said E.D. was escorted to the hospital for the medical check. Her father, M.D. (47), arrived during the night in a car, entered the hospital with a pistol, and allegedly attempted to shoot his daughter. Hospital staff and police moved quickly to protect E.D., taking her to a police point within the hospital. M.D. then fired at the hospital windows and disappeared. After hospital police announced the incident, multiple reinforcement units were sent to the area. Special operations police began searching the hospital and determined that M.D. was hiding in an empty room in the Neurosurgery Department. When police called on him to surrender, he did not comply and opened fire with the handgun. M.D. was arrested during the operation and taken into custody under extensive security measures and later transferred to the police station. E.D. was placed under state protection, and an investigation into the incident is ongoing. The case remains under investigation, with M.D. in custody.
