Police say a 47-year-old father went into a hospital in Adana to shoot his daughter, after allegedly learning she had been abused and sought help. The incident unfolded in Seyhan district of Adana. The young girl, identified as E.D., reported the abuse to police and was taken for a medical check at Adana Şehir Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesi. After learning about the situation, her father, M.D., went to the hospital at night with a handgun. Hospital police moved to protect the girl and escorted her to a police post inside the facility. M.D. fired at the hospital windows and then entered the building, where he hid and later refused to comply with police instructions. As the hospital issued an announcement, many additional teams were sent to the area. Special operations police started an operation inside the hospital and later determined that M.D. was in an empty room in the hospital’s Neurosurgery department. When police called on him to surrender, he opened fire again. Police detained M.D. during the operation and took him into custody. Under heavy security, he was removed from the hospital and taken to the police station. The girl was placed under state protection, and an investigation is ongoing. Source: Hürriyet.
