Bratislava city police chased down a 17-year-old after he allegedly tried to prove his identity with a photo of a fake citizens ID modified using AI. Officers were initially called to Obchodná street after CCTV flagged a person drinking alcohol in public. During the check, the teenager handed over a photo of an ID stored on his mobile phone. Police noticed inconsistencies on the document. They found the image had been altered with artificial intelligence, and the suspect ran. He headed toward Mickiewiczova street while officers repeatedly told him to stop. The chase ended when the teenager tried to hide under the stairs at a building. Even there, he did not comply, and police had to intervene physically before carrying out a security search. A breath test later confirmed he was under the influence of alcohol. Officers also learned he comes from a children’s home, and they contacted his legal guardian. The case is still being handled by city police after the arrest following the attempted ID fraud.
