Police seized amphetamine, cannabis and cocaine during checks in the Veliko Tarnovo area, Bulgarian authorities said. In one case, officers stopped a cargo truck and found a bag with about 0.5 grams of cannabis on a passenger. A 54-year-old man from Strazhitsa was detained. Under the front seat of the same vehicle, police discovered two more bags with white and yellow powder. Field drug tests showed they contained amphetamine, and the total weight was about 4 grams. Investigators opened a pre-trial case. Later the same day, officers carried out another check in the village of Vodoley. A 27-year-old woman from the same village was searched, and police found two bags containing leafy material that tested positive for marijuana. Police also seized a white powder that reacted to cocaine in a field test. A written case was prepared for the woman.
