A fire has reignited at the “Orlovoto Gnezdo” residence in Germany after previously being put out, with investigators linking it to smouldering embers and a suspected arson case. Firefighters managed to put out the flames after the blaze flared again overnight. The main fire nearly destroyed the historic building in the Bavarian Alps on Friday, and the damage has been assessed at millions of euros. Bavarian police said the second outbreak happened because smouldering embers reignited after the first fire was brought under control. A 33-year-old man was detained on suspicion of arson. According to the prosecution, an initial psychiatric expert assessment indicated the suspect has a mental illness. The residence was completed in 1938 and is near the Austrian border, later used as a restaurant from 1952. On Friday, the venue had been closed. German investigators have not reported any court outcome yet, but the suspect remains in custody as the case is handled under the prosecution’s direction.
