Police detained a shop owner in İstanbul’s Avcılar after he was accused of assaulting a 14-year-old girl at a tekel shop where she went to buy something. The incident allegedly took place last night on İskele Caddesi in Ambarlı Mahallesi. The girl entered the business to shop and was subjected to physical harassment by the operator, according to the accusation. Security camera footage captured the moments. The recordings showed the store had another customer at the time. After that customer left, the shop operator allegedly turned to the child. Officers moved after the girl reported what happened. Police reviewed the camera images, identified the suspect, and detained him on suspicion of child abuse. The suspect’s procedures at the police station were ongoing. The investigation continues following the detention.
