Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan has moved to the Supreme Court challenging his detention by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with the Jauhar Trust money laundering case, according to The Economic Times. Khan was arrested by the ED, after which a special court in Ghaziabad sent him to 14 days of judicial custody. His legal team then filed a plea seeking a hearing, but the special court refused to grant an urgent review at the time. The case centres on allegations of money laundering linked to Jauhar Trust, with the ED seeking legal action following Khan’s arrest. Khan’s latest move takes the matter to India’s Supreme Court, where his challenge to the ED arrest will be heard after his plea was filed.
