Police in Munich have arrested a 23-year-old after an illegal car race in Allach-Untermenzing. The incident happened on Thursday, 29.10.2026, around 23:50, when a man was driving a Mercedes on Thea-Knorr-Straße at clearly excessive speed, prompting officers to attempt a traffic stop. Instead of stopping, the 23-year-old accelerated and evaded police control. Officers followed the vehicle and the driver then pulled into a basement car park, parked, and fled on foot. During the search involving multiple police units, the man was found and temporarily arrested. Police also noted indications of alcohol consumption, and a blood sample was taken. After consulting the public prosecutor’s office, police confiscated the car and the driving licence. The 23-year-old was released after all police measures were completed, with further investigations handed to the Munich traffic police.
