Police stop Benjamin Castaldi in Paris after speed check and missing papers
No fine or procès-verbal after he showed a phone screenshot of his licence.
Benjamin Castaldi was stopped by police in Paris after officers suspected he was riding too fast and requested his papers. The incident unfolded in the 14th arrondissement on his scooter and was later broadcast on TV.
On 27 October 2026, Castaldi was checked by two officers over concerns about excessive speed. Cyril Hanouna revealed the event after images were circulated, including a video showing Castaldi talking with police while discussing the stop on set at Tout beau, tout n9uf.
Castaldi said he had not denied the stop. He explained that officers believed he was “a little bit” speeding and asked for his documents, which he did not have with him. He then presented a screenshot of his driving licence stored on his phone, and after verification police did not record a confirmed offence.
The television segment also revived attention on Castaldi’s previous driving troubles. In May 2019, media reported he had been recorded at over 287 km/h on the A6 during a speeding episode that led to a 24-month licence suspension and a 900 euro fine. Another traffic-related incident was also recalled from 2022, when he said he was stopped on the radio over a parking issue involving the pavement, linked to a phone matter.
Police did not impose an amendment or file a procès-verbal in the 27 October Paris stop, and the latest status in the source is that no offence was retained after checks.
