Berane police arrested S.Đ. from the Montenegrin town of Berane on suspicion of committing the criminal offence of indecent sexual acts. Police said officers from the Berane Security Department, working in coordination and on the order of the state prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor’s Office in Berane, took the suspect into custody over allegations that he touched the victim in an inappropriate manner and tried to have sexual intercourse with her. Prosecutors reviewed the case after police collected information and familiarised the prosecutor with the circumstances of the incident. The prosecutor concluded that the elements of the offence were met, ordered the arrest, and instructed that S.Đ. be brought, together with a criminal report, to the competent prosecutor’s office within the legal timeframe for further handling and proceedings. The suspect remains in custody pending further steps in the case.
