A resident of Berehove has been sentenced to 8 years in prison for making and distributing child pornography, after a video involving a minor was shared online. The case was heard in court after the crime happened in the summer of 2023 on the outskirts of Berehove. Prosecutors of the Berehove District Office backed the charges. In court, it was established that the accused recorded a naked 14-year-old girl on a phone in a sexual context. After filming, he then distributed the recording via the internet. Expert examinations confirmed that the video belonged to child pornography. The court found the man guilty of manufacturing and distributing child pornography, under Part 3 of Article 301-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. He received an 8-year prison sentence and was banned for 3 years from any activity connected with working with children. Until the verdict takes legal effect, he will remain in custody.
