Police in Bratislava detained suspects after two separate violent attacks on shop employees, including alleged threats to kill. In one case on Thursday, 22 October, a customer allegedly tried to pay with invalid deposit vouchers at a store on Tomanova Street in Vajnory. When the manager refused to accept them, the man allegedly turned aggressive, issued vulgar threats to kill, and physically attacked the manager. Officers arrived on the scene and restricted the suspect’s personal freedom. The man now faces allegations over the offence of dangerous threats. A day earlier, on Wednesday, 21 October, police intervened at another shop on Eisnerova Street in Devínska Nová Ves after a man allegedly behaved aggressively and used vulgar language. A store employee repeatedly asked him to leave, but the dispute escalated and the employee was physically attacked. A patrol detained the suspect at the scene. After the necessary procedures, investigators pressed charges for the offence of disorderly conduct. Police said employees should be able to work without fear for their health or life, and that threats and physical attacks are being handled through criminal proceedings when legal conditions are met.
