Father jailed for killing his 16-year-old daughter in Brest area
The girl disappeared on March 8 and her body was found in Châteaulin.
A man was jailed for the murder of his 16-year-old daughter after her body was found buried in Châteaulin, near Brest.
The teenager, born in 2009, was reported missing on March 8, 2026. Her father, already prosecuted for rapes, was placed in custody and later charged with aggravated murder.
Prosecutors in Brest said the suspect was questioned after indications he provided led investigators to the burial site. A body discovered at Châteaulin was found to be consistent with that of a minor.
At this stage, prosecutors said the suspect’s account remains his own. He described an altercation in which he allegedly hit his daughter at his home in Le Relecq-Kerhuon in the Brest area, on Sunday March 8, 2026.
The case also involves an earlier judicial process. In November 2024, the girl had told investigators in a school context that her father raped her between the ages of 11 and 14 and said medication may have been administered during those incidents. Three younger sisters were placed under provisional care following that report.
In April, the man was placed under formal investigation for incestuous rapes and sexual assaults of a minor, administering a harmful substance, and taking a minor away. He was under judicial supervision before this new case.
He is now in custody, jailed as part of the aggravated murder investigation. He faces life imprisonment.
