Police in Bursa detained a wanted man after a shootout erupted while officers tried to arrest him at a home. The fugitive, O.U., had a final prison sentence of 15 years and 5 months for “intentional killing.” Officers went to a residence in Demetevler Mahallesi, in Yıldırım district, to take him into custody. The operation turned tense when O.U.’s friend, G.Ç., fired an unlicensed pistol into the air. Reinforcement teams were sent to the area as the situation escalated. With the support of additional officers, both O.U. and G.Ç. were arrested and taken into custody. Police also seized the weapon used in the incident. A broad investigation has been launched into the clash and the circumstances around the wanted man’s whereabouts.
