Police in Bursa launched a special operations raid after a son allegedly held his mother at knifepoint inside their apartment. The woman, Hatice Ç., was taken to safety during the operation. The incident happened at around 01:30 in Osmangazi district, Küplüpınar Mahallesi, Okul Sokak, on the 3rd floor of a building. Police said Hakan Ç. and his mother were arguing when he allegedly took a knife from the kitchen and took her hostage. During the tense moments, Hatice Ç. managed to lock herself in a room and call the 112 emergency line. Responding officers arrived at the address and tried to persuade Hakan Ç. to stand down, but he did not respond. Because the situation did not de-escalate, a special operations team was sent to the scene. The team entered the apartment by breaking down the door with a battering ram, then moved in to take Hakan Ç. under control and free Hatice Ç. Police said the mother appeared frightened, but her health condition was determined to be good. Hakan Ç. was detained following the operation.
