Polfer arrests man in Bussoleno after train emergency brake incident
He allegedly resisted controls and injured an officer during a bicycle chase.
Police railway officers in Bussoleno arrested a man in flagrante delicto for resistance and injuries to a public official.
On 21 October, Polfer staff were alerted by the train conductor after the emergency brake was activated without reason, causing a delay.
When the train arrived at the Bussoleno rail station, officers identified a person without identification documents and took him to police offices for identity checks. During the transfer, he allegedly tried to evade controls by fleeing on an electric bicycle.
Despite an order to stop, he continued riding, leading officers to intervene to prevent him from leaving. During the pursuit, one operator was dragged to the ground after attempting to block the bicycle, suffering injuries and abrasions.
Other officers arrived and managed to immobilise the suspect, who was taken to the relevant offices. The injured operator received medical care and was transported to a hospital.
The electric bicycle was seized for further checks into its origin. After the formalities, the man was arrested and placed at the disposal of the judicial authority for a summary hearing. The case is currently in the preliminary investigation phase, with the presumption of non-guilt until a final decision.
