Carabinieri arrested a 48-year-old man after domestic violence in Casal di Principe, where he allegedly threatened his cohabiting wife, then assaulted her inside their home. The incident happened during the morning when the patrol intervened to end a situation of severe family tension. Police said the man threatened to kill the woman, then hit her with a slap to the face and physically assaulted her. Even after officers arrived, the allegations say he attempted to attack the woman again. Carabinieri moved in to stop him and protect the victim. During the intervention, one of the officers was also attacked by the man and suffered injuries that required medical treatment. After the confrontation was brought under control, the man was arrested. At the end of checks, carabinieri placed the 48-year-old under arrest on suspicion of mistreatment of family members and cohabitants and injuries to a public official. The judicial authority was informed, and the man was taken to the Santa Maria Capua Vetere prison on its orders. He is currently in custody, pending further steps by the magistrature.
