A man from Chișinău was detained for 72 hours after prosecutors said he allegedly took repeated payments to help arrange real estate paperwork and push a court case forward.
Prosecutor’s anti-corruption office said the suspected influence peddler allegedly sought and received money to facilitate obtaining real estate documents, cancel a purchase-sale contract, and speed up the examination of a case in court.
The case led to a search, followed by the man’s detention. Prosecutors moved to question him in connection with the alleged scheme involving payments for legal steps related to property documents and court proceedings.
His latest status is detention for 72 hours as the investigation continues.
