Police arrest man after cocaine, cannabis and cash seized near Ettelbruck station
Officers also recorded a separate pepper-spray assault report in Foetz and detained a disruptive intoxicated man in Luxembourg City.
Police reported several incidents during a busy period, including a drug arrest near Ettelbruck railway station.
On 7 October 2026, shortly after 11.25pm, a police patrol spotted a man near Ettelbruck railway station whose behaviour raised suspicions he could be involved in drug dealing. During a search of the area, officers seized several packets of cocaine. The man was then located shortly afterwards in a bar on Rue Prince Henri.
A body search led to the seizure of cash, just over 150 grams of cannabis, and a mobile phone. The drugs, cash and phone were confiscated as evidence. The man was arrested by order of the public prosecutor and brought before an investigating judge. Police did not state the outcome of any court proceedings.
Police also reported that on 9 October, at around 7.30pm, they were called to a physical altercation between two people in a car park on Rue du Brill in Foetz. According to initial reports, pepper spray was used after an argument. Officers located the suspect at the scene and found the pepper spray canister in his jacket pocket, which was seized. Reports were filed for assault and illegal possession of a weapon.
In addition, at around 1am on 10 October, police received a report of a man bothering customers outside a bar on Rue du Curé in Luxembourg City. The individual, described as heavily intoxicated, verbally abused officers when they arrived. Because of his disruptive behaviour and the risk posed to himself and others, he was taken into custody and placed in a sobering-up cell following a medical check.
Separately, police warned of an increase in fake emails impersonating judicial officials, urging recipients to provide personal information or money as part of a fraudulent criminal investigation. Police said authorities do not operate in this way, and people who receive such an email should ignore it and delete the message.
