The EuroMed Justice (EMJ) project held its 23rd CrimEx meeting in Stockholm, Sweden, on 5–6 May 2026. The meeting gathered criminal justice representatives from six South Partner Countries and eleven European Union Member States. Participants discussed how to strengthen international judicial cooperation, with particular attention on conflict of jurisdictions—situations where multiple countries may have a legal claim over the same case. A further focus was the practical use of Joint Investigation Teams (JITs). These teams are designed to help authorities from different countries coordinate investigations, including through shared planning and cooperation frameworks. EuroMed Justice organised the event to cover both technical and strategic aspects of these cross-border judicial issues. The programme centred on how different legal systems can work together when responsibilities overlap, and how JIT structures can support effective cooperation. The meeting took place in Stockholm and was organised by EMJ as part of its wider work on justice cooperation.
