Police officers were first on the scene of a garage fire on Bialska Street in Bestwina, where two people were trapped. In Friday’s incident, officers from the Czechowice-Dziedzice police station rushed into the burning garage. They first got a woman out of the flames. A short time later, despite heavy smoke and the direct threat of the fire, the officers reached a man who was no longer able to move on his own. His rescue followed the initial extraction, with the officers acting immediately after arriving. At the time of the report, the situation was handled on the spot, with the officers’ rapid response credited with saving human life.
