Derbyshire police have gone viral after sentencing a man over a high-speed chase, while joking he will miss GTA 6’s November launch. The force posted a TikTok video showing officers chasing a black van through residential streets in Ripley, with GTA 6 music playing over the footage. Officers added Grand Theft Auto inspired effects to the clip, including a three-star rating and a minimap, before they were able to cut the vehicle off and make an arrest. Police later said 28-year-old Jack Vickrage was sentenced to 14 months in prison after admitting dangerous driving, driving while disqualified, drug-driving, and cannabis possession. GTA 6 launches on November 19, and Derbyshire police captioned the post with a Vice City reference, saying nothing excuses driving like that in real life. The sentence follows a chase that took place in the run-up to release day.
