Man arrested after vacant property set alight in Derry
Police say the blaze in Prehen Park destroyed the building and three others fled the scene.
Police have arrested a 24-year-old man after a suspected arson attack in Derry that completely destroyed a vacant property.
Officers received a report at about 6.15 last night that a building in the Prehen Park area had been set alight. The fire service extinguished the blaze, but the property was left destroyed.
The man arrested at the scene was treated for non-life-threatening injuries before being brought to hospital.
Police are also investigating what happened to three other suspects who reportedly made off from the scene towards Victoria Road. Officers do not believe any of the others were injured.
Investigators are appealing for information, particularly from anyone with CCTV, dash-cam footage, or other recordings of the area around the time of the fire.
