Leicestershire Police have seized a Dogo Argentino dog from a village after reports of attacks and escalating concern among locals. Officers executed a warrant in Foxton on Wednesday, after the dog was said to have attacked other dogs in the area. The breed is prohibited under the Dangerous Dogs Act. Police said they received a report that a man and his dog were attacked by another dog between Middle Street and Vicarage Drive at about 18:00 BST on 16 October. During the incident, the man was bitten on the hand and knocked to the ground, police said. The force added that local residents had been worried about the dog for several weeks. Inquiries are ongoing and no arrests have been made. Police have appealed for witnesses as they continue investigating what happened. Harborough District Council councillor Jo Asher, who represents the Lubenham ward covering Foxton, said she was relieved police had seized the dog. Police said the investigation is continuing.
