Dorset police jail duo after £240k money laundering case
Shane Chapman and Christopher Mills were sentenced at Bournemouth Crown Court, and SCPOs were granted.
Two local men have been jailed for money laundering after Dorset Police’s Serious Organised Crime Team investigated their finances.
Shane David Manny Chapman, 36, of Verwood, and Christopher James Mills, 37, of Ringwood, were each sentenced at Bournemouth Crown Court on Thursday 5 November 2026 following guilty pleas.
Chapman received a three years and four months prison term for laundering £152,378 derived from criminal property between January 2022 and February 2024.
Mills was jailed for two years and 10 months for laundering £88,737 derived from criminal property over the same period.
Both men were arrested in February 2024 on suspicion of money laundering under Section 327 of the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002. Further detailed enquiries led to charges.
Alongside the custodial sentences, the court imposed Serious Crime Prevention Orders (SCPOs) on both defendants. The orders take effect upon their release and are intended to restrict and disrupt future criminal activity.
Detective Constable Ade Stocker said money laundering disguises the origins of criminal funds and that Dorset Police will continue to identify, disrupt and prosecute people involved in handling criminal property.
The latest status is that both men have been sentenced, and the SCPO restrictions will begin when they are released from custody.
