A 36-year-old woman was detained in Drohobych after driving a Tesla while drunk and crashing into a Nissan Leaf, injuring a 19-year-old man. The accident happened on 14 October at about 17:25 on Franka Street. Police said the Tesla driver carried out a collision with the Nissan Leaf, which was driven by a 19-year-old man from Drohobych district. The impact left the Nissan Leaf driver with injuries of varying severity. He was hospitalized. Police established that the Tesla driver was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. She was detained under Article 208 of Ukraine’s Criminal Procedure Code. Investigators of the Drohobych District Police opened a criminal proceeding under part 1 of Article 286-1 of Ukraine’s Criminal Code. The provision carries a possible prison term of up to three years, along with a ban on driving vehicles from three to five years. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing as authorities work to clarify all the circumstances.
