Two men, aged 34 and 44, face charges of robbery after they allegedly attacked and robbed a man in Dubnica nad Váhom. Police say the incident happened last week, when the suspects confronted a 42-year-old man on the street, physically attacked him and threatened him, forcing him to hand over his backpack and cash. According to investigators, one accused man first threatened the victim and then punched him in the face. When the victim fell to the ground, the same man allegedly stepped on his neck, while the second suspect pulled the victim’s hood over his head. The victim started shouting for help. Police say one of the men then hit him again and the pair took his backpack, which he had on his back. From fear of further violence, the victim reportedly handed over 50 euros in cash. The suspects then left with the backpack and tried to flee. Officers said they later identified the men. A resident from a nearby house stepped out, shouted at the pair and shone a flashlight at them. Police detained both men and proposed their pre-trial detention. Investigators charged them with robbery committed as co-offenders.
