A fight between two men in Düsseldorf-Lichtenbroich escalated into a suspected knife attack, leaving one person seriously injured. A suspected attacker was arrested and is in custody, while a murder unit investigates. According to police and prosecutors, the incident happened on Friday afternoon at a parking lot on Kieshecker Weg. Officers say a 46-year-old argued with a 36-year-old, first verbally, before allegedly stabbing him with a knife. The 36-year-old suffered severe injuries and was taken to hospital by rescue services. Police reported there was no danger to his life. After the attack, the suspected man fled in a car. Police launched an immediate manhunt and stopped the 46-year-old in the getaway vehicle, arresting him at the scene. The suspect was brought before an investigating judge, who ordered pre-trial detention. Düsseldorf’s public prosecutor’s office and a dedicated murder squad at the Düsseldorf police headquarters have taken over the investigation.
