Eight people identified in Thessaloniki over Rouvikon intervention at firm
One suspect was arrested in the city centre as charges were filed for eight people.
Eight people have been identified over an intervention by Rouvikon at a construction company in the Diavata area of Thessaloniki, after a police probe launched into alleged offences.
A case file was formed for all eight, aged 21 to 32. The incident took place on Wednesday, 14 October, at the firm in Ampelokipoi Menemeni, in Diavata.
Greek police said the identities were established following pre-investigation after a complaint about alleged unlawful actions at the company’s premises. Officers then moved against one of the suspects during an immediate process, arresting him on Thursday, 15 October, in central Thessaloniki.
Investigators from the police unit handling racist and extremist violence took over the inquiry. They allege the eight were organised for joint action, with different and predetermined roles.
The case file was filed for suspected membership in a group, violation of the secrecy of telephone communications and oral conversation, illegal violence, and threats carried out with the joint participation. Prosecutors also charged the group with disruption of domestic peace carried out with the joint participation, slander and breaches of personal data legislation.
The arrested man is expected to be brought before the competent judicial authorities, with the case file submitted for the remaining seven as well.
