Police raid cocaine party in Elounda, seize 40g and arrest four
The operation followed reports of alleged drug trafficking during a hotel event.
Four people were arrested after police raided a hotel party in Elounda, where cocaine was allegedly being sold or distributed.
Officers seized about 40 grams of cocaine, in white and pink form, as well as pills that will be examined to determine their composition. Police searched four rooms at the hotel during the operation.
The raid was organized by the Narcotics Prosecution in the Agios Nikolaos Criminal Investigation Unit, after information about possible cocaine trafficking during the event.
The investigation led to the arrest of a 32-year-old Israeli man, who is alleged to have acted as the supplier, with the largest amount of drugs found in his room.
Two more Israeli suspects were then arrested, a man and a woman, after cocaine was found in their possession.
The case is linked to an earlier incident on the morning of Sunday. A police patrol found a young Israeli man in a state that led to early suspicions he had been affected by drugs. When officers attempted to check him, he allegedly insulted them, resisted, and caused damage to a police vehicle.
He was taken to hospital for first aid. From the subsequent investigation, officers found he was staying at the same hotel as the party, and cocaine was found in his room, leading to his arrest. In total, four people were arrested across the two incidents, and all are facing the legal procedures provided by law.
