Eurojust and the Netherlands sign amended seat agreement in The Hague
The update strengthens cooperation supporting liaison prosecutors working alongside Eurojust teams.
Eurojust and the Dutch government have signed an amendment to the Agency’s seat agreement, further strengthening the legal framework for international judicial cooperation from Eurojust’s headquarters in The Hague.
The amended agreement is designed to support Eurojust’s expanding work with countries beyond the European Union. Eurojust’s cooperation includes liaison prosecutors who are seconded to the Agency.
These liaison prosecutors work alongside their EU counterparts at Eurojust, helping national authorities coordinate more quickly and effectively in serious cross-border crime cases. The amendment therefore clarifies and reinforces how Eurojust’s seat arrangements can support this wider international cooperation.
The change is focused on the operational framework for judicial cooperation hosted in The Hague, rather than on any specific criminal case. It underlines Eurojust’s role as a hub where prosecutors from different countries and legal systems can work together to support coordination on complex cross-border matters.
