Eurojust hosted the seventh EuroMed Prosecutors General Forum, bringing together prosecutors general and equivalent judicial leaders from EU Member States and countries in the MENA region. The meeting was designed to strengthen cooperation between South Partner Countries, European Union Member States and Eurojust. Prosecutor Generals and equivalent positions from the EU taking part included Bulgaria, Cyprus, France, Greece, Italy, Malta, Portugal, Romania, Sweden and The Netherlands. Representatives from the MENA region included Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco and Palestine. This year’s forum included an update on ongoing actions under the EuroMed Justice project. It also endorsed recommendations for judicial cooperation aimed at improving coordination in the fight against organised crime. In addition to formal discussions, the event provided opportunities for bilateral conversations on high-level cases during the margins of the forum. Eurojust said these side meetings were intended to support practical cooperation among participating prosecutors and equivalent authorities. The forum format reflects a focus on cross-border judicial coordination, combining multilateral engagement with targeted talks between participating partners.
