An international operation supported by Europol has targeted a criminal network linked to Camorra, the Italian mafia-type organisation. Coordinated by the Baden-Württemberg State Criminal Police Office and the Stuttgart Public Prosecutor’s Office, the action led to the execution of six arrest warrants and simultaneous searches at 16 residential and commercial properties across Germany, Italy and Spain. In Germany, investigators seized two illegally held pistols and ammunition. They also recovered counterfeit euro banknotes of Italian origin associated with the so-called “Napoli Group”. As part of the operation, police officers also seized 16 mobile phones and storage devices. The case details released by Europol do not state whether any suspects have been convicted. The operation remains part of ongoing law-enforcement activity following the arrests and searches.
