Fall River police arrest 37-year-old for unauthorized entry into school
Officers traced the incident to a broken lock mechanism and surveillance footage.
Fall River police arrested Joshua Halladay, 37, after he allegedly walked into a school building in the city.
Police said the incident happened Friday afternoon at Espirito Santo School, when a man entered through a door later found to have a broken lock mechanism.
A faculty member confronted Halladay and escorted him out of the building. Police Chief J.T. Hoar said no students or staff were threatened and there was no report of a physical confrontation.
The next morning, investigators studied surveillance video and interviewed staff to identify and locate Halladay. Officers took him into custody and transferred him to a local hospital after police said he was experiencing a mental health crisis.
Halladay was charged with unauthorized entry into a school.
