FBI arrests India’s most-wanted gangster Himanshu Bhau in the US
Interpol had issued a Red Corner Notice, with over 30 cases alleged against him.
India’s most-wanted gangster Himanshu Bhau has been arrested by the FBI in the United States, according to media reports.
More than 30 serious cases, including murder, attempted murder, extortion and arms trafficking, have been registered against him in several states including Delhi and Haryana. Interpol issued a Red Corner Notice in 2023, and police rewards were announced, including ₹2.5 lakh by Haryana Police and ₹1 lakh by Delhi Police.
Himanshu Bhau came to wider attention in 2022 after three murders were reported in Haryana within 24 hours. He was also linked to alleged violence connected to the firing outside YouTuber Elvish Yadav’s home in Gurugram in 2025, claims attributed to his gang.
Investigators said the gang also claimed responsibility for a shooting murder of Delhi gym trainer Vijay Kumar on 14 September. The gang’s name has also been reported in connection with a Burger King outlet murder in Delhi’s Rajouri Garden and a firing at a car showroom.
According to a report by The Indian Express, an NIA source said teams from Delhi and Haryana police tracked Bhau in the United States using technical surveillance and information from informers. Those findings were shared with US law enforcement agencies, which arrested him on Thursday evening.
Himanshu Bhau had established a base in Las Vegas, and he was reported to have lived in Portugal, where he was accused of running the gang from abroad. Police said gang members contacted businessmen using virtual numbers and social media to demand extortion.
The latest status is that Himanshu Bhau is under arrest following the FBI action in the United States, with official information awaited on extradition to India and further legal action.
