Police arrest two men for cocaine dealing on scooters in Florence
Seized drugs worth about 46g of cocaine plus cash, after Youpol tip-off.
Police in Florence arrested two men, aged 25 and 20, for alleged cocaine dealing and drug possession.
The investigation was triggered after a tip sent through the police Youpol app, which led officers to watch two suspects distributing drugs while riding scooters in Piazza Salvemini.
Officers and municipal police followed the 20-year-old first, seeing him move on a scooter from Via Scipione Ammirato to Piazza Alberti, where he met a man in the gardens and appeared to hand over an item.
The patrol continued as he entered a building in Corso Tintori and later left to meet another man, handing over something officers believed to be drugs. The 25-year-old was then seen leaving the same building and going to Via Magliabechi to make another alleged sale.
Two buyers confirmed the exchanges. They reported purchasing doses weighing 2 grams and 0.68 grams, paying 100 euros and 25 euros respectively. Officers then carried out searches at the home in use of the two suspects.
Inside, investigators found 1,010 euros in cash with the 20-year-old, along with 10 packages of cocaine totaling about 46 grams, a 71-gram block of hashish, and a set of scales. They also seized additional cash, bringing the total to 4,475 euros. All drugs and money were placed under seizure.
A judge ordered an obligation to sign for both men after their arrest.
