Five men charged over Warwickshire meth lab set to appear in Crown Court
The National Crime Agency investigation follows arrests made on 13 August.
Five men are due to appear at Warwickshire Crown Court after being charged in connection with the alleged production of methamphetamine.
The case follows a National Crime Agency investigation. The defendants are accused of conspiracy to produce methamphetamine, a Class A drug.
All five men were arrested on Thursday 13 August. They were charged and first appeared at Coventry Magistrates’ Court, before being remanded in custody.
The men accused are Alejandro Ambriz Dimas, 45, from Michoacan in southern Mexico, and four others: Victora Ramirez, 47, Fausto Beltran, 33, Lioncio Moso Borja, 37, and Jose Nunez Angolo, 44. The source says that, except for Dimas, the men are from Culiacan in the Sinaloa region of north west Mexico.
Prosecutors allege the group was involved in manufacturing the drug at a meth lab on remote farmland near Furnace End in Warwickshire.
The NCA says the action at the location was carried out with support from multi-agency partners, and it thanked Warwickshire Police, West Midlands Fire Service and West Midlands Ambulance Service, which it said was on standby to assist.
The defendants are scheduled to appear in court on 10 September.
